A conversation with Pia Turcinov AM

Pia Turcinov AM is a technology trailblazer who knows better than most about how innovation can provide opportunities to empower women.

Awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2023 for her services to women in STEM, Pia will share insights from her incredible 30+ career at our Executive Women’s Leadership Forum on Thursday, 18 April.

Her self-described passion for disruption, entrepreneurship and connecting Australian smarts to the world has seen her build a fascinating career as a director, investor, advisor, mentor, entrepreneur and champion of women in business.

The Executive Women’s Leadership Forum is a community of executive level, senior and future-leading women in Committee for Perth’s membership, who meet throughout the year to hear from inspiring leaders about their career and life journey.

Pia Turcinov AM LLB. BA. GAICD

Pia is an accomplished portfolio board director, immediate past Chair of Women in Technology WA, and General Partner of FundWA, a Perth-based venture capital fund. 

With 30+ years of legal, commercial, and corporate experience across multiple industries, Pia has worked with hundreds of founders, start-ups and high-growth ventures and is passionate about building diverse ecosystems to effect positive change with impact. Sharing her broad experience as a director, investor, advisor, mentor and entrepreneur, Pia sits on a number of boards in the technology, health, education and energy sectors. 

Pia is Chair of the East Metropolitan Health Service and serves as a Council Member at Edith Cowan University, as well as an independent non-executive director at the Centre of Decommissioning Australia and BrainChip Holdings.

Pia was appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia in the King’s Birthday 2023 Honours List for her significant service to technology and innovation and to women in STEM, and late last year received the WAITTA INCITE 2023 Pearcey Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
