Here at IWA we see synergy between the Committee for Perth and ourselves, particularly as at the core of our work is the aim to support better outcomes for the people, environment and economy of WA. Curtin University is proud to have been a member of the Committee for Perth since 2007. The Committee is a voice for its members and our city, and has made a significant, positive contribution to Perth’s development. Its reports and advocacy on a range of topics ‐ including Perth’s demography and economy, key industries and wage equality for women, as well as considering future challenges ‐ have informed debate and development in a positive way over the past 15 years. The Committee has worked in partnership with WA’s universities, with academics contributing their expertise to projects, adding rigor to the work and expanding its impact. For example, academics from our School of Built Environment conducted research and wrote a chapter for the Get a Move On! Project report into Perth’s mobility future. Curtin participates in networking arranged by the Committee and benefits from speakers the Committee has bought to Perth over many years and the leadership provided by the Committee, especially in a time of such significant change to the way cities operate, and the way people work, has been extremely beneficial. Curtin’s Chancellor, Dr Andrew Crane, has been a member of the Committee Board since 2020 and we are proud that the Committee has for many years been led by one of our graduates, Marion Fulker AM. Congratulations to all involved in the Committee for Perth over the past 15 years. Curtin University looks forward to another 15 years of collaboration, advocacy and achievement.”

I arrived in Perth from overseas with the idea that I would be here for three or four years and then move on. 18 years later, I can’t imagine living anywhere else in the world. I am really proud to call Perth home. And while Perth is already fantastic, I believe it can be even better! I joined the Committee for Perth because I love this place and believe in its future. With guidance from the Committee for Perth, I am absolutely positive Perth’s best days are ahead of us!

The future of work and creating, developing and promoting the skills and diversity is an area Mapien is involved in every day – and we can assist in the Committee in the development of policy, research and supporting WA industry.

As Purple’s resident property specialist, I am a huge believer in and advocate for our city and I am looking forward to becoming involved in the Committee for Perth. We are lucky enough to live in one of the best places in the world – but I believe that there is an enormous untapped potential in our city, which we need to work together to leverage if we are going to continue to prosper and position ourselves for growth and success in the decades ahead.

We consider the Committee for Perth a fundamental platform for: raising the City of Joondalup’s business profile and economic initiatives with key business and Government decision-makers; demonstrating successful and highly visible advocacy and lobbying campaigns for its members particularly in respect of the State Government; managing events with high profile speakers that provide early or more detailed briefings on issues, projects or regulations that may impact Perth or the City of Joondalup; receiving regular communications on economic development trends and initiatives that impact the greater Perth metropolitan region; nominating issues for the consideration of members that may trigger a greater degree of research attention than would otherwise be the case; and, actively participating in research and advocacy projects that are relevant to the City of Joondalup.

The level of events I have attended with Committee for Perth has been superior to those I have been to on the east coast, and even overseas. From the speakers to the event execution, Committee for Perth is flawless in their high-end executive network offering.

Congratulations to the Committee for Perth on reaching this impressive 15-year milestone. Hawaiian has been a member of the Committee for Perth since 2008, sponsoring several member-only events. We were particularly pleased to be a supporting funding partner of the Hashtag Perth project during 2019-2020. Hawaiian is a West Australian-based property company, and we believe in the importance of connecting people through our places. The Committee for Perth has a similar passion, and through its evidence-based research, it informs and advocates for change that improves the cultural diversity, economic prosperity, sustainability and world-class amenities of Greater Perth. Hassell would like to congratulate the Committee for Perth for their 15 years in operation anniversary – we are pleased to have been supporting the Committee for over 10. Since we joined their member base in 2010, we have been involved in many of the organisation’s initiatives, including sponsoring two major research projects: Get a Move on! and the most recent Future of Work. I am also pleased to have been a long-term member of the Reshaping Working Group, a cross-functional group of urban experts who work together on issues affecting Greater Perth’s planning and development. Rottnest Island Authority has an active interest in the advancement of the Perth and Peel region, and the addition of an RIA representative provides an opportunity to align the island with the Committee’s vision for Perth. Rottnest is the jewel in the crown of Perth’s destination offering, and an important consideration for local development, national positioning and international tourism policy.

St Ives, as Western Australia’s leading Retirement Living business, joined the Committee for Perth because it recognises the importance of engaging with other key stakeholders in the region to help shape the future of the city and surrounding areas. The Committee for Perth provides a forum for businesses, government, community organisations, and individuals to work collaboratively towards shared goals that benefit the entire community. As a member of the Committee for Perth, St Ives has the opportunity to contribute to important discussions and initiatives related to issues such as urban planning, transportation, economic development, and social inclusion. By participating in these efforts, St Ives can help ensure that the needs and perspectives of seniors and Retirement Living businesses are considered and included in the city’s planning and development strategies. Additionally, membership in the Committee for Perth provides valuable networking opportunities and access to information and resources that can help St Ives stay informed about key issues and trends in the region.

Joining Committee for Perth will offer me a unique opportunity to contribute to important initiatives and advocacy efforts related to sustainability, major government projects, public transport, and placemaking. With three campuses bringing 800 students per day, this Committee offers me a chance to work with like-minded individuals and organisations who are passionate about creating positive change in our community. I will have the chance to learn from and collaborate with other members of the committee who bring a diverse range of perspectives and experiences. Moreover, I will have the chance to be part of a broader movement towards a more sustainable, equitable, and prosperous future. In summary, joining Committee for Perth is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful initiatives and expand my knowledge and expertise.

Stockland has been an avid supporter and member of Committee for Perth for over a decade and heavily aligns with the purpose and values of this organisation. The unique aspect of the organisation is the diverse focus areas that Committee for Perth tackles which sees through individual sectors and/or industries and advocates for change for the entire city. Cultural diversity, economic prosperity and sustainability for Perth are all hallmark pillars which provides a distinctive platform to influence change and something we are proud to support. The research projects are something that sets Committee for Perth apart from other bodies, focusing on meaningful topics such as Hashtag Perth and Bigger & Better Beyond the Boom. Through our membership, we have been able to get involved in these industry-changing research projects and provides us with an opportunity to think wider and elevate out of our specific industry and focus on Perth as a whole.
