Reshaping Working Group

On the 5th September the Reshaping Working Group and additional members were invited to attend a site visit of ATCO’s new Clean Energy Innovation Hub at the Jandakot Operations Centre. This site visit gave attendees the inside scoop on the latest hydrogen energy innovations in Western Australia and a chance to see hydrogen energy in practice.

The site visit started with an informative presentation by ATCO staff before proceeding onto the site visit. The first stop was the Six Seasons Garden. This garden was designed in conjunction with input from Noongar woman, Denice Kickett, and its radial design includes a planting palette that reflects each of the individual six seasons on the Indigenous calendar.

The site visit then proceeded to the Hybrid Modular Home where the residential applications of the hydrogen energy system were showcased and the associated costs discussed. Finally, the tour concluded at the battery storage and electrolyser facilities with an explanation of the technical and logistical considerations of the Clean Energy Innovation Hub.

Mobility Taskforce

This month the Mobility Taskforce had its second meeting where attendees made more progress towards assessing how many of the recommendations of the Committee’s landmark report, Get a Move On!, have been realised. Our intern Lauren Quintal has done a ten week placement with us and has prepared a matrix of the progress on the recommendations to date which provided the basis for the meeting’s agenda.

Reshaping Working Group

The Reshaping Working Group met for a second time in September, this time to receive a workshop with the Department of Communities on their ten year housing strategy.
