How we can we create an economy that serves us?
Recent research reveals Australia’s life dissatisfaction levels have doubled as ‘wellbeing poverty’ reaches new highs, with ABS data showing one in 10 people are not satisfied with life – but community cohesion and trust lift happiness scores.
Against this backdrop, Committee for Perth is pleased to offer members the opportunity to hear from wellbeing economy advocate Dr Katherine Trebeck, author of The Economy We Could Have.
As part of the Make/Shift Festival Summit, taking place at Fremantle Town Hall on Friday 18 September 2026, Katherine will explore the futures currently on offer, where they fall short, and what we could aim for instead. Her keynote will challenge conventional thinking about progress and prosperity, asking how we can create an economy that enables people, communities and places to thrive.
The Summit will bring together people working across some of today’s biggest challenges, offering fresh perspectives, meaningful connections and practical momentum for shaping the future of our communities, organisations and cities.
