Sport plays an important role in shaping Western Australia’s economy, communities and liveability – creating value that extends well beyond the game.
Committee for Perth, together with SportWest and WA Cricket, presents More than the Game: How Sport Powers the Economy and Communities, bringing together leaders from sport, business, government and the broader community to explore the contribution sport makes to Western Australia and the opportunities greater collaboration across sectors could unlock.
Held in conjunction with the 2026 WA Sport Industry Conference, the evening will feature the official launch of the updated Social Return on Investment (SROI) for WA Sport, developed by SportWest in partnership with the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport. The research demonstrates the measurable economic, health and social value generated through investment in sport across Western Australia.
A panel discussion will bring together multi-medal winning Olympians Natalie Cook and Peter Bol, ACIL Allen Principal Ryan Buckland and SportWest CEO Troy Kirkham to explore the value sport creates beyond competition and what stronger connections between sport, business and government could mean for WA.
Held at the WACA Ground, the sundowner will also provide an opportunity to connect with leaders from across Perth and build new relationships across sectors.
The evening will support the Aussie Athlete Fund, giving you an opportunity to help Australian athletes continue their pursuit of sporting excellence.
Thank you to our event partner SportWest and to our event host WA Cricket.
