This event with the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation’s commissioners will be held at Curtin University’s beautiful gallery in the Old Perth Technical College in the CBD.
It will follow Committee for Perth’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). A separate notification regarding the AGM will be sent to Key Representatives.

Our speakers and panellists
John Langoulant AO
Agent General for Western Australia in the United Kingdom/Europe region
Mr Langoulant is the Agent General for Western Australia in the United Kingdom/Europe region. Mr Langoulant and his team work to attract investment and increase trade into Western Australia from the United Kingdom, Europe and Israel.
A respected business leader who has held a diverse range of executive and non-executive roles, Mr Langoulant has decades of experience across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. He has extensive knowledge of the Western Australian economy and industry and considerable experience undertaking reviews to support government reform agendas.
As Western Australia’s Under Treasurer from 1995 to 2004, Mr Langoulant was instrumental in restoring the State’s AAA rating. He has also held Chief Executive positions with Australian Capital Equity, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Western Australia and the Oakajee Port and Rail project.
Most recently, Mr Langoulant has held a number of non-executive director roles including as Chair of Infrastructure WA where he was responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, planning, management and performance of the agency. He has also been the Chair of the Government Employees Superannuation Fund for the past decade.
In 2010, Mr Langoulant was awarded an Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia and was the Western Australian Citizen of the Year for Business in 2011.
Juan Lu
Investment and Trade Commissioner for the Greater China region
Juan is the Investment and Trade Commissioner for the China region at the Western Australian Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation. Juan and her team work to attract investment and increase trade into Western Australia from mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
With over 25 years’ experience and expertise in international investment and trade in Australia and China, Juan has a proven track record in facilitating strategic and productive relations between Western Australia and China. Juan has strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, a demonstrated understanding of government policy and a deep knowledge of the Western Australian investment and trade landscape.
Juan has held a number of leadership roles at the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation and has facilitated Chinese investment in Western Australia’s mining, energy, agriculture and infrastructure sectors. Juan has also acted as a China Advisor to various State Government Ministers and Premiers on overseas missions.
Juan has a Bachelor of Engineering and a Master of Accounting. Being a native Mandarin speaker, Juan has an excellent understanding of Chinese business and culture.
Nicole Fasana
Investment and Trade Commissioner for the North East Asia region
Nicole is the Investment and Trade Commissioner for the North East Asia region at the Western Australian Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation. Nicole and her team work to attract investment and increase trade into Western Australia from Japan and South Korea.
Nicole has extensive experience in investment and trade across multiple sectors and markets and has held a wide range of roles in both state and local government. In her previous role within Invest and Trade Western Australia, Nicole managed a team which focused on investment attraction and facilitation. This work included servicing high profile clients, assisting local companies to export into global markets, business matching, site selection and the development of investor visit programs. Nicole also has a strong background in managing high profile projects and leading the development of government programs and strategies.
Prior to entering the Western Australian public service, Nicole held several positions in marketing and communications within the private sector.
Nicole has a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Economics from The University of Western Australia with majors in Economics, Asian Business and Communication Studies. Being of Japanese background, Nicole is a Japanese speaker with an excellent understanding of Japanese culture. Nicole also has language skills in Mandarin Chinese and Italian.
Natasha Monks
Investment and Trade Commissioner for the Americas region
Natasha is the newly appointed Investment and Trade Commissioner for the Americas region at the Western Australian Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation.
Natasha is a senior executive with deep experience in both the public and private sectors. Natasha has most recently been the Chief Executive Officer at the Great Southern Development Commission, delivering economic development outcomes for regional Western Australia. Prior to this, Natasha served in commercial diplomacy roles focused on growing trade and investment linkages with Australia for the Commonwealth Government in ASEAN and the Americas. Natasha’s private sector experience spans global and regional senior management roles that have been based in Singapore, Thailand and Australia across a range of sectors.
Nashid Chowdhury
Investment and Trade Commissioner for the India-Gulf region
Nashid is the Investment and Trade Commissioner for the India-Gulf region at the Western Australian Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation. Nashid and her team work to attract investment and increase trade into Western Australia from South Asia and the Middle East.
With two decades of economic development, investment and trade experience across state, Commonwealth and local governments, Nashid has extensive expertise in managing offshore networks, supporting business growth, leveraging state and Commonwealth government programs, and attracting investment across international markets. Nashid also has a strong background in strategic stakeholder engagement which has enabled her to develop strong networks throughout South Asia and the Middle East.
Nashid has worked across a wide range of sectors and has experience working with tech start-ups and businesses focused on cybersecurity, financial services, transport, construction, science and innovation.
Holding a Master of International Business from Monash University, Nashid has previously worked for Austrade in the United Arab Emirates. Being of Bangladeshi and Indian background, she is fluent in Hindi, Bengali and Urdu, and has an excellent understanding of business and culture in South Asia. Nashid is also competent in reading Arabic.
Bryce Green
A/Investment and Trade Commissioner for the ASEAN region
Bryce is the Acting Investment and Trade Commissioner for the ASEAN region at the Western Australian Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation. Bryce and his team work to attract investment and increase trade into Western Australia from ASEAN countries.
Bryce has a strong background in communications, media and strategic advisory consulting. Bryce joined the Western Australian public service in 2022 as a member of the Strategic Partnerships team at Invest and Trade Western Australia, supporting the State’s key relationships in the ASEAN region.
Prior to entering the public service, Bryce was based in Jakarta as a risk management consultant and analyst for one of the region’s premier strategic advisory firms.
Bryce is also a former journalist and broadcaster in Western Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and speaks Bahasa Indonesia.
