We are pleased to welcome Kane Blackman, CEO of Good Sammy Enterprises, as guest speaker at The Chair’s 20 on Wednesday, 25 November 2026.
Kane is a highly regarded leader across the social enterprise, health and community sectors. Alongside his role at Good Sammy, he is a Non-Executive Director of the East Metropolitan Health Service and a member of the WA Future Health Research and Innovation Fund Advisory Council.
Under Kane’s leadership, Good Sammy has continued to evolve as one of Western Australia’s most recognised social enterprises, creating employment, development and training opportunities for people with disability while playing an increasingly important role in WA’s circular economy.
Each year, Good Sammy processes millions of kilograms of donated goods, keeping clothing and other materials in circulation and exploring new ways to recover and reuse items that might otherwise end up in landfill. Its work demonstrates how circularity can create environmental benefits alongside economic and social value through new industries, employment and opportunity.
The conversation will explore the role of social enterprise in the broader economy, the opportunities presented by circularity, the changing nature of employment and inclusion, and how commercial success and social impact can reinforce rather than compete with one another.
Held in the dining hall at heritage-listed Lamont’s Bishops House, The Chair’s 20 brings together an exclusive group of leaders from Committee for Perth’s Gold and Silver member organisations to discuss issues critical to Perth’s future.
This discussion will provide an opportunity to consider how Perth can create greater value from its resources while building a more inclusive, productive and sustainable economy.
