We are pleased to present Committee for Perth’s Twilight Talks: Hungry for Change, on Tuesday, 22 October 2024 at Parmelia Hilton.
Join Kate O’Hara, Foodbank WA CEO, to discuss the hunger crisis in Western Australia and the power of corporate partnerships to make a difference. Amid growing cost of living pressures, the 2023 Foodbank Hunger Report revealed 388,000 households in WA experienced hunger. This event seeks to raise awareness and inspire action to combat hunger in WA.
For 12 years, Hawaiian has proudly partnered with Foodbank WA to tackle food insecurity, building a network of support across the Perth region. This long-standing relationship reflects Hawaiian’s commitment to making a meaningful difference to young people and families in their community.
This event is complementary for all Committee for Perth members, however guests are asked to bring a non-perishable item as their “ticket to entry” to add to the Hawaiian Giving Box, directly supporting the work of Foodbank WA.
With thanks to our event host Hawaiian.

Scott is most proud of seeing Hawaiian’s centres become the catalyst for social connection and belonging in our communities. A Hawaiian shopping centre, Scott says, is the heart of the neighbourhood and welcoming spaces for everyone.
Scott was involved in conceiving, planning, negotiating and delivering the Forrestfield Library project at Hawaiian’s Forrestfield; a Western Australian first in connecting a local municipality through retail, delivering a prized asset and legacy for the community. He leads Hawaiian in the acquisition of new neighbourhood centres, always with a goal to ignite social connections.
