Urban Insights: Towards 2036

Join us for our first event of 2025, Committee for Perth’s Urban Insights: Towards 2036 on Monday, 10 February 2025.

Tim Watts, a global leader in urban design and development with the renowned Gehl Studios, will share early insights into the City of Perth’s ‘Towards 2036’ project. This visionary initiative, between silver member City of Perth and urban strategy experts Gehl, will deliver a masterplan for the City’s future growth, set to be unveiled later this year.

For over 30 years, Gehl has advocated and tracked progress in the City’s ambitions and plans. Studies in 1994 and 2009 were critical in shaping the City’s public realm, including the realisation of Elizabeth Quay, development of Perth City Link, and a vision for a student-filled CBD.

With the City’s population expected to reach 55,000 residents by 2036, Gehl’s next instalment is set to shape our liveable Perth of tomorrow.

“This new project will develop a long-term vision for public spaces and public life to create a more liveable and sustainable city heart,” says City of Perth.

Committee for Perth’s Urban Insights are city learning journeys. These events explore transformations of precincts and regions, with insights from those driving ideas for change.
