Committee for Perth appoints Tania Hudson as Chief Executive Officer

Committee for Perth today announced the appointment of Tania Hudson as its Chief Executive Officer for a five-year term.

Ms Hudson brings to the role a distinguished career spanning journalism, banking, resources, philanthropy, and the arts; with deep expertise in communications, governance, stakeholder engagement, and strategic leadership.

Following the departure of former CEO Paula Rogers in December 2025, Ms Hudson was appointed Interim CEO on 1 January 2026. Over the past four months she has demonstrated exceptional leadership of the organisation, maintaining momentum on the Committee’s flagship Perth 2050 Ambition initiative and strengthening relationships with its membership base.

“We were fortunate to secure someone of Tania’s calibre on an interim basis, and it quickly became clear she was the ideal permanent appointment. Her strategic acumen, deep commitment to Perth’s future, and capacity to engage across sectors make her a perfect fit for the Committee.” Rob Cole, Chair, Committee for Perth.

Ms Hudson’s career began in journalism, covering sport and business for Queensland and Melbourne mastheads including the Courier-Mail and The Age. She subsequently held senior roles at ANZ as global Head of Media Relations, before moving to Perth to join Hamersley Iron and then Rio Tinto, where she became founding Manager of the Rio Tinto WA Future Fund.

She has also served as Director Global Engagement at Minderoo Group, Chief of Staff at Lions Eye Institute, CEO of the Chamber of Arts and Culture WA, and co-founded Collective Impact WA. Ms Hudson holds qualifications from the University of Queensland and the University of Cambridge, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

“I am passionate about Perth’s future and the work the Committee does to shape it. Having called Perth home for the last 27 years, I know this is a city of immense potential at a pivotal moment. I look forward to working closely with members, the Board and staff to drive the conversations that matter most and deliver solutions to help make Perth one of the world’s most liveable cities.” Tania Hudson, CEO, Committee for Perth.
