Launching Perth Design Week 2025 program

Committee for Perth is excited to present the inaugural program launch for Perth Design Week 2025 (PDW 2025) on Wednesday (19 February) evening at Dexus Place, Perth.

Now in its third year, Perth Design Week has forged a reputation for showcasing design excellence and providing an influential platform for innovative ideas and critical thinking on matters such as sustainable design for Perth.

Events such as PDW 2025 are critical to improving the future liveability of Perth, according to Committee for Perth CEO Paula Rogers, who said less than half of residents are satisfied with sustainability measures implemented in the WA capital.

“Sustainability starts with design. Whether it’s the urban design of our city and how it will evolve over the next 25 years, or the design of the homes we live in and how we furnish those homes.

“From our research through the Perth 2050 report, we know residents are concerned about addressing urban density and decarbonisation. PDW 2025 provides a vital forum to continuing these important conversations.”

“We are excited to host the PDW 2025 program launch event, facilitated by member Dexus, as we advocate for Perth to establish a bold and ambitious plan. The festival provides a platform for the challenging conversations we need on the critical issues to shape our city’s future.”

Perth Design Week co-founders Sandy Anghie and David Smith thanked Committee for Perth and Dexus for supporting the festival, and hosting the inaugural launch event to reveal the PDW 2025 program.

“Perth Design Week explores design through a lens of purpose, focusing on sustainable design, adaptive reuse, affordable housing and equity, aiming to engage the public in these important conversations,” said Ms Anghie, who is also PDW chair.

Modelled after major design festivals in Melbourne, Milan, London and New York, PDW 2025 will celebrate an array of design disciplines through an engaging program of talk, exhibitions and gatherings, positioning WA on the global design stage.

PDW 2025 will run from 20-27 March, with more than 80 events across the Perth CBD and beyond. Emerging designers will have the opportunity to showcase their work through the annual exhibitions by North Metropolitan TAFE and Curtin University, both members of Committee for Perth.
