Ian Booth
Ian is currently the CEO of Black Swan State Theatre Co, Western Australia’s major theatre company, a role he has held since 2022. He has over 20 years of experience in the Australian screen industry and is currently a director of film executive production company Indian Pacific Pictures and Home Fire Creative Industries, currently building major film studios in Western Australia. Ian is a Commonwealth Government appointed member of the Board of the Australian Children’s Television Foundation, and Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee.
He was CEO of Screenwest for over a decade, financing hundreds of screen projects, including Mystery Road, Breath, Red Dog, Satellite Boy, Paper Planes, Bran Nue Day, Cloudstreet, SAS: The Search for Warriors, Outback Trucker, Lockie Leonard and many more. Originally a lawyer, Ian also worked at the ABC and has served on the Boards of national screen agency Ausfilm, Awesome Arts and the FTI. Ian believes the work of Committee for Perth is critical to the development of the economy, and the wider community in Western Australia, and aligns with his roles as well as his personal goals.
Ian was elected as a Director of Committee for Perth in November 2025 for a three-year term.
