The report highlights the opportunities for Perth of diversifying its economy and the need for urgency in capitalising on its comparative advantages.
In the report, Perth business leaders outline the need for Perth to craft a global narrative and attract investors and visitors, offering a series of unique and thought-provoking views on how the city can harness innovation, culture and talent to become a global powerhouse. Critical common themes emerged from the report, including the need to:
- Attract the human capital required to ensure innovation in key areas
- Establish a clearer identity to sell our story to the world
- Build urban density to address housing shortages and enliven the city
- Value add and diversify to reduce reliance on resources
- Supercharge energy transition to create a clean, green centre
