Joining the board
Joining the board of Committee for Perth is an opportunity to make a positive difference to Perth’s future. We provide an apolitical and independent voice for our members, who come from over 42 different industry sectors. Like us, they are passionate about the global Perth region and want to make sure it’s the best it can be for their business, staff, family and the wider community. Committee for Perth has been in operation since 2007 and is a high profile, impactful organisation that has a great board and team to work alongside. There are four (4) board meetings a year and additional strategic planning sessions where relevant. As a Board Director you are invited to and acknowledged at events.
Committee for Perth is seeking nominations from ‘Perth Passionates’ ambitious about Perth’s future. We welcome nominations from leaders from our member organisations, ideally in C-suite positions, who have strong strategic capability, senior connections in Government, and who represent sectors that are dominant in the Greater Perth economy.
How to nominate
In accordance with Committee for Perth Limited’s Constitution, the Committee is seeking nominations for three (3) positions of Elected Directors on its Board.
Nominations are now open and will close at 5:00pm (AWST), Friday, 25 September 2026.

It is the responsibility of candidates to meet the requirements for the election of Directors, including membership fees paid in full and compliance with the Committee for Perth Constitution. All nominees must be a current officer of, employed by or otherwise retained by a Committee for Perth member organisation. That member organisation must also have paid its current membership fees in full. In addition, to be eligible for election as an Elected Director, a candidate must not be a person who is a current elected government official (including local and state government) or their representative.
If the nominee is successful, he/she will need to apply for a Director ID number (if he/she does not already have one). This needs to be done prior to appointment as a Director.
All completed nomination forms with associated paperwork must be emailed to kirsten.compton@committeeforperth.com.au and be received by 5:00pm (AWST), Friday, 25 September 2026.
Nominations received after the closing date and time will not be considered.

Electronic Ballot
Should more than three (3) eligible nominations be received, a ballot will be necessary. The vote will be conducted by electronic ballot which will open on Tuesday, 6 October 2026 and close at 5:00pm (AWST) on Friday, 23 October 2026. If an electronic ballot is necessary, a separate email will be sent to key representatives by our authorised independent provider, TrueVote, which will include instructions on how to complete the ballot. Please note that only your key representative is entitled to vote in the Committee for Perth elections.

Eligibility to Vote in Director Election
Members must have paid all outstanding membership fees to be eligible to vote. Only financial Members of the Committee for Perth can vote in the Directors Election. This includes Gold Members, Silver Members and Bronze Members.
Gold members have weighted voting rights of 3:1 for director elections; Silver members have weighted voting rights of 2:1 for director elections; and Bronze members have weighted voting rights of 1:1 for director elections.
The voting representative of the Member in the Committee for Perth membership database will receive the ballot via email.
Reconciliation
Reconciliation and the celebration of the Perth region’s Indigenous cultures are foundational values of Committee for Perth. Our commitment to reconciliation principles – through research, advocacy and relationship building – has been guided by our cultural advisor Richard Walley OAM.
For example, we have advocated for an Indigenous cultural centre since 2008, when our “A Cultural Compact for Western Australia: the 10 Year Challenge” research report called for a World Centre for Indigenous Culture to be developed on a central site on the Swan River.
We published our first Reconciliation Action Plan in December 2010. Committee for Perth belongs to the Reconciliation Australia community, with 2450 organisations, and a proud member of Reconciliation WA.
