A clean energy future is one of Western Australia’s most urgent and ambitious goals, and global issues such as fuel security, climate impacts, stakeholder expectations, and complex infrastructure delivery are placing increasing pressure on governments and industry to respond effectively.
However, from challenge comes opportunity, and Perth is well-placed to lead the country by uniting our leaders to implement innovative and collaborative solutions to the energy transition. We understand that fragmentation – whether that’s in understanding the size and nature of the challenge, in developing approaches or simply in communicating about the issues – will be the enemy of building the resilience we need as a fast-growing, low-carbon, prosperous and liveable city.
At the inaugural Power Shift Dialogue, we aim to take a panoramic view of the WA energy transition, moving beyond individual projects or technologies to consider the broader challenges and opportunities facing the energy sector. We will seek to explore how renewables, gas, infrastructure, policy and markets can work together to deliver on the ambition of a reliable and affordable energy future for our city and beyond.
